Vythrosa Ally Design Contest - Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & Age Requirement

   This contest is open to individuals aged 18 years or older. By entering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. All entrants must also have a valid PayPal account, as the cash prize will be distributed via PayPal. Vythrosa is not responsible for any issues related to PayPal accounts or payment transfers.
   
   
   

2. Purpose of the Contest

   The contest is for designing an in-game Ally (NPC) for Vythrosa, a free-to-play online, illustration based, science fantasy RPG. The contest is intended for the creation of a public-use character that will be accessible to other players in the game. Entrants should not expect to create personal or original characters (OCs) for private use.
   
   
   

3. Ownership of Winning Design

   By submitting your design, you agree that if your design wins first place, it will become the property of Vythrosa. This includes all exclusive rights to the design, allowing Vythrosa to reproduce, alter, and distribute the character in the game. The entrant will no longer retain ownership of the design itself.
   
   NOTE: The artist will retain full rights to the original artwork they submit. This means the artist can continue to use and display their artwork for personal use or in portfolios, but they will not have any claim over the character design itself, which becomes the property of Vythrosa if selected as the winner.
   
   
   

4. Modification of Winning Design

   Vythrosa reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the winning design as needed for integration into the game. This may include tweaks to the character’s visual design, story elements, or lore, and the character may receive a new name if a name is provided with the design. The changes will ensure the character fits seamlessly into the game world. Vythrosa will not alter the artist's artwork. A splash art image will be created by Vythrosa for in-game use.
   
   
   

5. Prizes

   • First Place: The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of $100 USD, paid via PayPal, in addition to in-game rewards (35,000 Paiwa, 1,000 Crystars, 3 months VIP+, 3 boosted lootcrates, PLUS the Ally) valued at approximately $250 USD.
   • All Entrants: Regardless of the outcome, all participants will receive 10,000 Paiwa, 500 Crystars, and a boosted lootcrate.
   • Note: On-site and in-game rewards will be granted once the entrant registers for the official Vythrosa site. Entrants must sign up to receive any in-game rewards associated with participation.

1. Non-Winning Entries

   If your design is not chosen for first place, you will retain all rights to your submission. You are free to use your design for personal purposes or in future projects, including possibly incorporating it into Vythrosa through other methods.
   
   
   

2. License for Display of Non-Winning Entries

   By entering, you grant Vythrosa a limited, non-exclusive license to display your submitted artwork in connection with the contest (e.g., in promotional materials, social media posts, or on the website). This will not transfer ownership of your design, but allows Vythrosa to showcase your work publicly for contest-related purposes.
   
   
   

3. Judging Criteria

   All entries will be judged based on the overall quality and creativity of the design, not necessarily on the technical skill of the artist. The judging panel will focus on how well the design fits into the Vythrosa world and its potential as an in-game Ally. High artistic skill is not a requirement to win.
   
   
   

4. Judging Timeline

   Judging will begin as soon as the contest is no longer receiving submissions. The judging process will start immediately after the November 30th, 11:59 PM EST deadline. The winners will be selected and announced within 2 weeks after the contest ends.
   
   
   

5. Submission Guidelines

   Submissions must be original creations. Any entries found to be derivative of copyrighted works or violating third-party intellectual property rights will be disqualified. Entrants may submit as many entries as they like. Each entry will be judged independently. Additionally, the following content restrictions apply:
    
   • No hate speech, offensive symbols, or derogatory imagery
   • No sexually explicit content
   • No excessive gore or violence (extreme mutilation, spilled guts, visceral details, etc.)
   • No excessively violent imagery
   
   Entries that do not adhere to these content guidelines will be disqualified.
   
   Submissions should have discernible details so that the overall design is easily interpreted. Your artwork does not need to be fully lined, painted, rendered, or shaded. You can submit entries with sketched lines and flat colors, as long as the design is readable.
   
   

6. Submission Deadline

   The contest will no longer accept submissions after November 30th, 11:59 PM EST. Any entries submitted after this time will not be considered.
   
   
   

7. Notification of Winner

   A winner will be notified via email or direct messaging within 2 weeks after the contest deadline. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure they provide valid contact information. Failure to respond within 3 days of being contacted may result in forfeiture of the prize.
   
   
   

8. Disqualification

   Vythrosa reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not meet the submission guidelines, violate any terms, or otherwise attempt to manipulate or unfairly influence the contest outcome.
   
   
   

9. Agreement to Terms

   By entering the contest, you agree to these terms and acknowledge that, if selected as the winner, your design will become the exclusive property of Vythrosa. If you are not selected as the winner, you retain full rights to your design. You will retain the rights to the artwork you submit, even if Vythrosa takes ownership of the character design itself.
