COMMUNITY STANDARDS

1. INTRODUCTION

Vythrosa is an illustration-based roleplaying game. Our intention is to build a community of visual artists and provide them a fun way to develop their skills using the systems we have in place.

By joining and participating on Vythrosa, you agree to follow our Community Standards in all of your Contributions, including but not limited to text, writings, video, audio, photographs, graphics, comments, suggestions, or other material.

Vythrosa aims to foster a respectful, inclusive, and creative community. Therefore, we welcome our users to express themselves however they may choose within the appropriate limits as defined in these Community Standards.

✦ Note: We cannot enforce our Community Standards anywhere outside of our Site and official community channels. What another user does offsite and outside of official Vythrosa spaces is out of our control and we encourage you to block users you do not want interacting with you. Notwithstanding, users who are found using Vythrosa IP offsite for STRICTLY PROHIBITED CONTENT as defined in section 3, “Prohibited Content,” may be subject to punitive measures.

2. GENERAL CONDUCT

While using our Site and any of our official community channels, such as Discord, you agree to abide by our rules for conduct:

  1. You may not use any part of our service in a way that intends to threaten, annoy, slander, harm, bully, intimidate, harass, or abuse any of our employees, agents, or other site users.
  2. You may not use any part of our service to host, display, or advertise anything that can be considered inappropriate as defined under section 3, “Prohibited Content.”
  3. You will behave respectfully towards our employees or agents as they perform their duties in order to provide you with service, including when they are reviewing reports, submissions, or other Contributions by you.
  4. You will behave respectfully towards other users, regardless of your standing or history with them. In order to facilitate a better experience for yourself, you should utilize the blocking feature liberally.
  5. You will respect that other users may have differing opinions from yourself and you will respect other users’ personal boundaries.
  6. You will not make “callout posts” of other users on our Site or in any of our community channels, such as Discord. If you need to inform staff of misconduct from another user, please do so by submitting a report on site or contacting us via email at admin@vythrosa.com.
  7. You will not beg, guilt trip, solicit, or otherwise manipulate other users to trade you their in-game items.
  8. You will not cheat or exploit our game in any way that benefits you at the expense of others, creates an unfair advantage, or otherwise takes away from the point of the game (i.e. exploiting a bug that allows you to sell an item for more than it is worth).

Breaking these rules will not be tolerated and may result in punitive measures depending on the severity.

We want to emphasize that users should always be respectful of other users and staff. We encourage you to offer kindness, compassion, constructive feedback, and support. Due to the nature of the game, constructive criticism can be expected. However, please respect other users’ decisions if they state they do not wish to receive constructive criticism.

Furthermore, you may receive feedback that can be considered constructive criticism on your Contributions from staff, especially on content that submitted as part of the game (e.g. Quests). Such criticism typically includes tips and requests to edit your submissions so that it fits the requirements of the game.

3. PROHIBITED CONTENT

In order to keep our game healthy, there are certain types of content we do not allow to be uploaded, submitted, advertised, or otherwise displayed by users anywhere on our Site, publicly viewable or in private. This includes but is not limited to usernames, comments, messages, submissions, and all other Contributions: visual, auditory, or written.

You may not display or transmit any of the following across the Vythrosa site and our official community channels:

  1. Political content, particularly that which depicts or endorses real world political events, parties, and figures.
  2. All sexually explicit content in all forms. Sexually explicit content includes depictions of sex, sexual organs (including bare female breasts with nipples), fetishes (including those not inherently sexual, such as feederism), or sexually suggestive content (such as the events immediately before a sexual encounter).
    1. Pinups and similar content are not strictly prohibited, but must not be intended to be erotic.
  3. Depictions of extreme gore. Though Vythrosa has mature themes in its campaign, such as death and cannibalism, extremely violent and graphic depictions of excessive blood, guts, mutilation, dismemberment, or torture is strictly prohibited in any form.

The above is prohibited on site and in our official, public community platforms. However, we will not stop users from creating or sharing sexual or violent content using Vythrosa intellectual property off site or outside of official community platforms.

What a user does with his/her Vythrosa characters offsite is not our business, unless it includes any of the following STRICTLY PROHIBITED CONTENT defined as:

  1. Hateful content, such as racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, islamophobia, and other types of bigotry, especially that of which is directed towards at-risk or marginalized groups and people.
  2. Bestiality, particularly that which depicts real life animals.
  3. Underage sexual or suggestive content and pedophilia, whether of fictional races (such as those on Vythrosa, or fantasy races like elves and orcs) or humans.

If we become aware of a user using any Vythrosa intellectual property, including content which we own and characters derived from our IP (such as a user’s Hyros, Kaarmesusi, or Faelthros) for STRICTLY PROHIBITED CONTENT, ON OR OFFSITE, we will take immediate actions against him/her, including permanently closing his/her account, and up to reporting any unlawful content to authorities. Users with accounts that were closed due to creating STRICTLY PROHIBITED CONTENT, ON OR OFFSITE, using Vythrosa IP (including his/her own original characters using Vythrosa IP) will not be able to submit appeals.

Additionally, you may not use Vythrosa or its services to spam, phish, scam, or otherwise mislead other users. You are prohibited from using our services to purposely misinform other users.

4. HARASSMENT AND REPORTING

Harassment of Vythrosa employees, agents, and users is strictly forbidden. Examples of harassment include but are not limited to repeatedly sending unwanted messages, making personal attacks or insults, doxxing (sharing someone’s personal information without consent), posting offensive or threatening content about another user, stalking or persistently following someone across platforms, engaging in non-consensual sexual advances, and attempting to manipulate, blackmail, or intimidate others.

To avoid harassment, always respect other users' boundaries and personal space—if someone asks you to stop contacting them, honor their request.

If you experience or witness harassment, please report it to our moderation team.

If the violation occurs within the platform (e.g., in comments, messages, or forums), use the built-in report button to flag the content for review. Otherwise, submit a report and describe the issue in detail by doing the following:

  • Include screenshots or links to the offending content.
  • If the harassment happened in private messages, provide relevant logs while ensuring they are unaltered.
  • Clearly explain what happened, including the date, time, and usernames involved.
  • If this is part of an ongoing issue, mention any previous incidents to provide context.

Our team takes harassment and rule violations seriously. We consider all angles of the incident, which includes:

  • The time and date of the incident
  • The offending account(s) history and age
  • The context and events leading up to the incident
  • The severity of the incident and its impact on the reporter

Reports are handled confidentially, and moderators will review all evidence before taking action. False or misleading reports may result in consequences for the reporter. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Vythrosa a safe and welcoming space for all.

5. PROMOTIONAL CONTENT

Due to the nature of the game, we allow users to advertise some types of services or content in designated areas. For example, we allow users to promote the following in the tagline, comments, or description of their OWN profiles:

  • Commissions
  • Adoptables
  • Links to their Twitch or other streaming platform profiles
  • Other art or craft advertisements, whether or not they are related to Vythrosa

You may not advertise anywhere else on site, including through sending unsolicited private messages.

In other community platforms, such as Discord, you may advertise permitted content as outlined in those designated channels and forums.

6. GAMEPLAY AND IN-GAME TRADING

In order to play the game, a registered character is required. A character is registered when they are on the character masterlist. Unregistered characters cannot be used in-game, but users may include them in their Contributions.

Vythrosa does not allow users to submit any unrelated media to our Site. User submissions must be related to Vythrosa in some capacity. Usually, this just means playing the game as intended.

We do not allow users to sell, trade, or otherwise transfer their accounts, nor can they sell or trade their in-game items for real world currency or physical goods. Users are permitted to trade their in-game items for other in-game items and/or in-game currency by using our trading system on site, or trade their in-game items for art or art services. Gifting, no-entry-cost raffling, or otherwise giving way items for free is also allowed. Additionally, users may trade in-game items for any digital goods as described below:

  • In-game items belonging to another game (if not prohibited by that game)
  • Original characters from similar art based games to Vythrosa (if not prohibited by that game) and other original characters not affiliated with any particular game
  • Digital currency within another game (if not prohibited by that game)

Trading is strictly AT YOUR OWN RISK. Vythrosa does not take any responsibility and users will not hold Vythrosa responsible for the loss of items resulting from any trades or transfers, even if the trade abided by the rules established above. We cannot recover lost or stolen in-game items. By using our on site trading system, you accept and agree to this.

7. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY

Under no circumstances should you ever share your personal information with another user. Additionally, only whereas required to provide specific services will Vythrosa ask for certain personal information, such as your birthdate to provide in-game birthday rewards.

Personal information includes:

  • Your real name
  • Your birthday
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your physical location or address
  • Other personally identifiable information

Protecting personal information is essential for maintaining privacy and security online. Sharing sensitive details, such as full names, addresses,or emails, can lead to identity theft, harassment, or unauthorized access to your account. Likewise, disclosing another person’s private information without his/her consent is a serious violation of their privacy and may result in disciplinary action. To ensure a safe and respectful community, always keep personal data confidential and avoid sharing or requesting such information from others.

8. COPYRIGHT, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, AND GENERATIVE AI

We expect our users to respect intellectual property, as it is crucial to maintaining a fair and ethical community. Using or distributing someone else’s artwork, music, writing, or other creations without permission undermines the creator’s rights and efforts. You must always credit original creators when sharing their work. Unauthorized reproduction, tracing, or claiming others' work as your own is not tolerated and may result in disciplinary action. Supporting and respecting creators fosters a community of trust, creativity, and originality.

If your Contributions include content we become aware contains trademarked or copyrighted materials, we will take it down with or without notifying you.

Generally speaking, there should be no reason to share another artist’s work. In cases where it is permissible to share another artist’s work, you must credit them by name and where to find them. For example, “Art was drawn by [Username] on Instagram!” Please be cautious and do not link directly to an offsite account or profile if it has easily accessible NSFW content visible.

Furthermore, we do not allow the use of generative AI in any Contributions you may provide, both visual and written. Vythrosa aims to provide users with a fun way to challenge themselves and develop their artistic ability. We stand by the belief that anyone can become an artist, at any age, and regardless of their experience. We accept both digital and traditional artwork, so there is no excuse for using AI. We stand against generative AI not just for its lack of human soul and creativity, but because of its impact on our environment and the planet. If we discover you are using AI in your submissions, you will be warned, and if use persists, we will take actions against your account ranging from suspensions up to permanent removal.

9. CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATIONS

Users found violating our guidelines as outlined in the Community Standards may be subject to various punitive measures, ranging from warnings to permanent removal and up to reports to the authorities where necessary for unlawful conduct or the safety of our staff and other users.

Vythrosa reserves the right to terminate the account of a user found to be breaking the Terms of Service and our Community Standards at any time, without warning, and at our sole discretion.

10. INCLUSION AND ACCESSIBILITY

Vythrosa promotes the use of inclusive language and behavior to ensure that everyone feels welcome, regardless of background, gender, or ability. Our community thrives on respect and understanding, and we expect all members to engage with others in a way that fosters a supportive and diverse environment. Discriminatory language, exclusionary behavior, or any form of bias has no place here. By embracing inclusivity, we create a space where all voices can be heard and valued.

We also encourage accessibility practices to make Vythrosa a welcoming space for everyone, including those with disabilities. Considerate actions, such as using clear and readable formatting, help ensure that all members can fully participate.

11. MODERATION AND ENFORCEMENT

Moderators play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, fair, and welcoming community. We utilize moderators to ensure that Contributions abide by our Community Standards and Terms of Service. Moderators are here to help resolve conflicts, prevent rule violations, and uphold the integrity of the space so that all members can enjoy a positive experience.

Moderators’ decisions are final, as they are made with careful consideration of our policies and the well-being of the community. However, we understand that misunderstandings can occur. If you believe a decision was made in error, you may submit an appeal by submitting a report or contacting us directly via email at admin@vythrosa.com. When applicable, appeals will be reviewed. Please note that repeated challenges to final rulings without valid reasoning may not be considered and ultimately ignored. Our goal is to ensure fairness while keeping Vythrosa a safe and enjoyable space for all users.

12. CHANGES TO THE COMMUNITY STANDARDS

We may periodically update our Community Standards to reflect changes in policies, community needs, or game and platform improvements. Vythrosa is committed to maintaining a fair and safe environment, and any significant updates will be announced through official channels, including on site news posts. The most current version of the guidelines can always be found here, on the Community Standards page. We encourage all users to review the guidelines regularly to stay informed about any updates.

13. FEEDBACK

We always accept community feedback and suggestions and encourage our users to let us know if something is not up to standard. If you wish to provide feedback so that we can further improve Vythrosa, please do so by submitting a report on site or email us directly at admin@vythrosa.com with the subject title “Feedback and Suggestions.” Please keep your feedback constructive and professional.
